Gibson Les Paul Studio

Up for sale is a new Epiphone Goth Studio Les Paul. I purchased this today brand new in a local music store. I thought it had a cool look and did not think it would be much more than a looker. Boy was I wrong. This guitar was also a player. The setup was fair but I could tell it could be setup real well. I fired it up through a store amp and low and behold no sound out of the bridge pickup. This to me was good news because I figured an easy fix. Instant discount I was thinking. We haggled and I got it for a good price. I was assured it is brand new but it does show some signs of kids handling it, It is still in overall  excellent condition. I cant say mint because of of the scratch on the pickguard. It has very minor blems throughout but that is the nature of the balck matte finish. The pictures are in the bright sun and are reflecting ont the guitar. I am sorry this guitar is way cool looking just not photogenic.

I could not wait to get it home and see what was up. Sure enough way simple fix for the bridge pickup. Some wires were shorting on the volume pot. Straightened that out and  Good as new. I went through and did a complete setup. Action low great neck. Fretwork outstanding . Intonation excellent. The pickups I was sure would be a disappointment. No they sound great also. This is coming form a guy who owns Anderson Tyler and Suhr guitars as well as many other high end guitars. The quality of this guitar in this price range is nothing short of extraordinary. Short of the minor blems on finish you will love this guitar. Even better you will love the price. In many ways this is better than new at least as far as the setup which I did.

I pride myself in finding great guitars in all price ranges to pass on to other players. This one is no exception. . The tuners are high quality grovers. Stays perfectly in tune even with aggressive string bending which is my style The electronics have a good feel to them. They dont have that cheap loose feel as some imports in this price range. My summary is this. For a gibson style guitar in the under 500 range new this may be the best I have ever played. I have this up for a quick sale.
