Gibson Les Paul Studio

 If you are looking for an as new, used Les Paul Studio with free shipping and hard shell case thrown in, this is it. 

This  guitar  followed me home about 6- 8 years ago.  I played it on and off for a year or two, and it's lived in my closet since then.  I've been playing guitars since I was in my teens, and I'm in my mid 60s now.  Over the years, I've accumulated several instruments, and now I'm running out of room.  Because I have several guitars, I don't play any of them a lot.  And, I usually attempt to play jazz or finger style, so it's been played gently. I looked at it in sunlight, and failed to see any scratches, dents, dings, blemishes or other defects.  But in case you buy it and find something I did not, I better say that it has some surface defects that my over 60 year old eyes can't see. The Grover tuners are in as new condition.  The bridge is in as new condition.  The rosewood fret board is without wear and in as new condition. The fitted mahogany neck is not warped and in as new condition.  The maple topped mahogany body is in as new condition.  The original open Alnico humbuckers are a delight.  I know people change these things out, but I just watched a U tube video of some guy who had tried three different pickups in his Les Paul, and they all sounded about the same.  The originals are noise free with the axe sitting close to my Behringer amp.  With the tone controls set fully clockwise and the volume controls fully clockwise, they sound a little bright, but tone control adjustment or flipping the switch to rhythm eliminates this.  I believe the output is very good, because it's easy to drive an amp into distortion with them.

I would like to be able to tell you when and where it was made, but the serial number, 311310660, was not enlightening.  I bought this instrument from a music exchange that often buys instruments returned to the factory, repaired (if needed) and resold as used.  I suspect that's why it has the serial number assigned to it.  I was told that any new instrument returned to the store for any reason (customer didn't like it, wanted a different  finish or thought something was wrong with it) goes back to the factory for examination, any needed repairs and to check set up.  It is then a used instrument.  Anyway, it was in as new condition when I bought it, and it still is.  The case has a few white paint rubs on it, but it is in all other regards like new.  It comes with a key.

Shipping:  As stated, I will ship via UPS free of charge to the lower 48 states.  This excludes foreign countries and the states of Alaska and Hawaii.  The instrument will be shipped inside a well padded cardboard box, usually within 24 hours of payment.  I have never had any problems shipping with UPS.  Should the shipment arrive with any damage, you should note this with the driver.  Should it be necessary,  It is up to you to file the damage claim.  UPS will then contact me for additional information. Be aware: Insurance is provided only for the amount of the purchase.  In case of damage claims, UPS does ask if the shipping was paid by the seller or the purchaser and may deduct the cost of shipping from the refund.
