Here is a 1992 Gibson Les Paul Studio light. This guitar is no longer made. The last list price for these was $2,000.00.It has a chambered body, aimed at all of us who said Les Pauls were too heavy.Well they solved the weight problem and a by product of the chambering was an increased resonance and fullness. Also the guitar still had plenty of highs. You can still get Les Pauls with chambered bodies but you will pay a very serious price. This guitar has so little wear,it appears it just wasn't played.Finished in beautiful cherry sunburst with gold appointments & beautiful trapezoid inlays on the neck .It comes with the original brown hard case.Usually the first thing to show its age is gold plating. While we have some playing worn off and a little pitting,I have seen worse condition gold in 1 year instruments .Look at and study the pictures in case I miss something. But I will try to give you a close up with my eyes while holding the guitar. Its the next best thing to it being your eyes.Lets start with the gold plated pieces. The stop tailpiece shows almost no signs of wear. The stud on the bass side for the tailpiece is pretty well worn off and pitted. Not much if you wish to replace it.The bridge is in good shape with some wear and pitting that basically stops halfway down and even at the halfway mark there is very little.Go to the 5th & 6th string and the top of the bridge on the bass side and there is wear and pitting.Almost unnoticeable at 3 feet. The 2 strap buttons have most of the gold off as one would expect.Again very little money would have to be spent to replace them.Almost no wear on the gold buttons of the tuning keys, but some wear the shaft stick out from under the headstock that the button fastens to. Again 3 feet away and it doesn't matter. As I said almost no wear on the buttons ,but a touch of pitting randomly. The gold around the switch is worn 50% plus. The gold screws that fasten the control plate and switch plate show some wear but I would leave them alone. If it were my guitar & I wanted to do anything to the gold parts,I would buy the switch nut insert and 2 strap buttons. Period. 10-20 dollars tops. The frets show almost no sign of wear. The crown is not broken. This guitar just didn't get played it appears. The back of the guitar shows some light marking scratches .The top about the same ,just about all of these scratches barely break the finish let alone getting into the wood.I could hand polish this guitar and hand buff it and make all the marks go away in 30-45 mins. Its not even plagued with the typical "shirt button rash". Overall here and there are a few impressions and very few dings. This guitar has to rate A - or B + very good.If you look at a new one in the store which usually has marks on it you might go higher. If you look at it negatively you would probably give it a B-.I say a guitar thats 18 years old should have a lot more marks & some serious scratches and dings. This 1 is close to a "time capsule model" Look at the pictures and see how nice it is for 18 years old & the price of a new one - Take the fact it is not even made any longer and this one goes a long way to being a keeper. The sound is goregous as you would expect. Why do you think a lot of the big names are now offering chambered guitars? Tone, tone tone . This is the almost "pristine" guitar that has the extra 15 or more years of life in it that most of these don't.Buy it & play it & enjoy it.You save 100's of dollars and you won't feel guilty when you put your first scratch on it.This guitar has not had anything but care & love & storage. Thanks
