Here is a 2006 Les Paul Studio body that had a headstock break that someone tried to fix with just three screws.  It's pretty ugly but the good news is they did not use glue so it can be properly glued for a solid repair.  A headstock break that is properly repaired and glued will never break on the glue line.  This is only for someone willing to take on the project or let their luthier fix.  Frets are still pretty good and everything else is solid except for this break.
