For your consideration we are offering a gorgeous, adult 2nd owner, barely played, babied in my care, never gigged, 2005 Ebony Gibson Les Paul Studio electric guitar, with gold hardware, in 9++ condition. Guitar comes with Gibson Harshelled case with programable lock in near excellent condition. I had to take off a smidge for very light pick guard scratches and one teeny tiny 3/16" ding on the back of the neck of the guitar. (hard to notice but have to mention.) (see image number 5) The body, electronics, and beautiful gold hardware are in beautiful condition. I really hate to part with this one, but I own 14, and need to reduce my personal home collection. The guy I bought this guitar from in Dec 2008 said he quickly lost interest in playing, and I received it in great plus condition with the tiny ding in the neck. If you know much about Les Paul Pick ups you know that depending on the set installed, it makes a difference in the tones. The gold plated humbuckers on this Les Paul Studio in my opinion kick butt. The pickups are basicly Gibson's 1957 Classic pickups with alnico 5 magnets added (see features below for details), giving a brighter fat rock sound, with added punch. For lack of a better discription, with distortion added, it sounds like Joe Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way" sound. It has unbelievable sustain, and the action is set low. It plays like butter. It also sounds fat and warm played in a normal setting. (bluesy like Allman Bros.) For my taste it is hard to beat anything close to the Gibson 1957 Classic humbuckers. That is the sound Les Pauls are most famous for. Again that is my biased opinion. The guitarist who ends up with this instrument will not be disappointed. The guitar does not look look it's age. No more than it was played, ( I have 14 guitars to use), I would say it looks like a well kept 2 year old guitar. She will definitely be missed. Good luck.

Special notes: The Les Paul Studio is designed for a studio musician. This means that the guitar is targeted toward guitar players more concerned with tone and playability than cosmetics thus eliminating unnecessary expenses that go into a model designed for performances. For this reason, the elements of the Gibson Les Paul that contribute to tone and playability (a carved maple top and standard mechanical and electronic hardware) are retained, while elements that do not (binding on the body and neck as well as ornate inlays) are not.
