1986 Gibson Les Paul Studio Standard Electric Guitar with Black Case
You are bidding on a used Vintage 1986 GIBSON Les Paul Studio Standard Electric Guitar with a hard black Gibson case. I believe this is the original case that came with this guitar. Everything works great on this guitar and the sound is extremely fantastic! It just needs a new set of strings. The early Studios were extremely well made and differed from the Standard only in a couple of ways. They were less ornate and their bodies were about an eighth of an inch thinner (1-3/4'' vs. 1-7/8'' on a Standard). This guitar is 1-3/4" thick. They were designed for just what their name suggests--the studio, where the only things that really count are playability and tone. This guitar is a Studio Standard, a fairly uncommon model, and a sort of hybrid between the Studio and the Standard. You can think of it as a Studio with binding or as a Standard with dot inlays and a thinner body. This guitar has been played a lot--presumably because it is so much fun to play. It has some battle scars (see pictures.) There are two spots on the back of the guitar (these can be seen in the photos) that the glaze has worn off. This guitar still has a ton of character. I believe this guitar has a mahogany body with a maple cap. This would be an awesome guitar to add to any collection! This comes with a black Gibson hard case (these cases sell for $200 by themselves.) Please ask any questions before bidding. Thanks for looking.
