For your viewing pleasure, here is a gorgeous brand new Gibson Les Paul Studio 50's
Tribute Gold Top that as you can see in the sticker photo, arrived at GC on Monday and I picked up today. As I'm sure you probably already
know, this guitar is already out of production as it was a special
edition and it is extremely sought after and rare. I'm sure you have also noticed there are a bunch of them on ebay right now. Don't let this fool you into thinking they are easy to find. The reason is Gibson after months, finally caught up with building the guitars and have shipped them at the same time, but once they are gone, good luck finding one.
I ordered two of these
guitars 5 months ago, but could not wait any longer and picked up a Traditional Pro Gold Top. The guitar as mentioned, is
brand new and I only took it out of the box to take pictures and make
sure everything was in working order.
This guitar comes with a"Warn" finish to simulate a used guitar, so it has purposely
placed small imperfections and wear marks. In this one though, its very light except for the cover in the back being scratched ( pic #7) and a tiny ding on the gold top (Pic #6). It has a beautiful two piece back with the splice very close to the center of the body and very difficult to see, which is awesome, as I've seen some with even 5 piece bodies. It also has a gorgeous rosewood neck with beautiful red grain. This is an amazing guitar that will make someone very happy.

Some Information from the Gibson Website:
The Les Paul Studio 50s Tributes’ Worn Gold
Top nails the appearance of the popular “Standard” and
“Custom” finishes from the era, while its unbound body and neck and
chambered mahogany body with carved maple top keep it in line with the
simplicity that thousands of Les Paul Studio players already cherish.
A Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece and Kluson-style
tuners keep it all rock-solid and resonant, while point-to-point wired
“Orange Drop” tone caps help to translate that raw, gnarly P-90 tone in
true 50s style. The Guitar comes protected in a black Gibson gigbag and
includes a Gibson owner’s manual.
Body and Finish
A solid, carved maple top and chambered
mahogany body give the Les Paul Studio 50s Tribute the same tonewood
combination that has been helping Les Pauls rock for nearly 50 years, which presents a guitar with
the look of a well played original, while the instrument’s unbound body
and neck keep it in line with the popular Les Paul Studio line.
Neck and Headstock
The Les Paul Studio 50s Tribute is crafted
with a solid quarter-sawn mahogany neck, a rosewood fingerboard, and a
headstock set at the traditional 17-degree angle for superior
transference of vibrational energy—all ingredients of the classic Les
Paul Standard of the 1950s.
Pickups and Electronics
To give it the vintage look and meaty, raw
sound of an original 50s Les Paul, the Les Paul Studio 50s Tribute
carries two Gibson USA P-90 pickups, which are wired through the
traditional four-knob Les Paul control array, with a three-way
Switchcraft toggle selector and quality “Orange Drop” tone capacitors on
the tone pots.
Hardware
Designed to offer the rock solid
dependability that today’s musicians demand, while reflecting the look
of classic hardware from the mid 50s, the Les Paul Studio 50s Tribute’s
Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge, stopbard tailpiece, and Kluson-style
tuners present a best-of-both-worlds hardware package.
Surface Texture
A grain-textured
satin finish with 30-sheen lacquer gives the Les Paul Studio 50s
Tribute a pre-worn look that enhances its vintage image, and offers a
smooth, comfortable playing feel.
Process
The Les Paul
Studio 50s Tribute is hand-finished in nitrocellulose in a process that
is carefully monitored to ensure minimum build-up, in an effort to
produce a finish that breathes with the guitar and enhances natural
resonance, and the final coat is hand-rubbed with a flattening agent to
enhance its aged appearance. Unlike many other manufacturers, who settle
for a polyurethane finish, Gibson opts for a nitrocellulose finish that
will encourage the natural vibration of the instrument for a purer
tone. In addition, a nitro finish is very porous and actually gets
thinner over time.
