Carved Maple Top, non-chambered Mahogany body, 490R & 498T pickups, Wine Red Translucent.

The carved Maple top is 1 piece. The mahogany body is NOT chambered, or two or three pieces like they are made today...this is the real deal Gibson Les Paul here folks, with huge Gibson tone fatter than the butchers dog!

Has the very desirable '59 mahogany neck carve...not too fat, not too thin...sublime!

This instrument is very resonant and lively. It's so easy to play it practically plays itself. Professional setup with low action. Strung with DAddario (EXL110) XL Nickel Wound Regular Light Gauge Wires .010-.046.

For those who don't know, these original Gibson Les Paul Studio's are the same as a Standard without the binding, and the carved maple top is 1/8 thinner to reduce weight. This is the guitar the current model tries (but fails) to emulate. This is the guitar that players demanded Gibson reissue...why Gibson brought back an inferior version and charge a heftier price is beyond me. Why guitarists buy the reissues when you can own the real thing for less money by buying used is a bigger mystery.

This 1996 beauty is all original. It has the famous Gibson 490R & 498T pickup combo, which are the same original pickups found on the current Custom Shop Gibson Les Paul Custom.

The guitar is exactly as described. No funny business, just a great guitar with a great vibe, and no issues other than some play wear.

This is the guitar with that special "mojo"...the one you reach for over and over, you know, the go-to guitar. The one that just feels and sounds...right. 

NO structural damage, no breaks or repairs. This is a solid tone machine with no issues.

The frets have plenty of life left in them. The action is low and it plays like a dream. The pots are clean and static free, no scratchy sounds. Both pickups are loud and proud, full of FAT Gibson tone in all 3 positions.

I have about 10 or 15 more pictures. Just send me a message with email address and I will email them to you.  After I cleaned the guitar, I forgot and left one of the knobs off, bottom right know, and had the pictures taken and downloaded for me. Then when I listed it, I noticed the knob. The knob is on the guitar, as you will see if you have me to email you more pictures. The face of the guitar has some minor surface sctraches, no paint, just barely visablly, no paint missing. Scratching is so fine you can't see them in a picture, and that's the reason no picture showing them,
