What a find! Impeccable condition rare Gibson Les Paul XR-2, the predecessor to the Les Paul Studio with some distinct differences:
- Mahogany body with creme-BOUND maple cap (non-arched)
- Rosewood fretboard with dot inlays
- Thicker-profile neck
- Set-neck construction
- Mini-humbuckers with factory coil tap
- Tune-o-matic bridge and stoptail
This particular guitar is in fabulous shape. Nearly no playwear or fretwear. No modifications what-so-ever. There is some worming on the back that I tried to capture in a picture and that is the only cosmetic defect and does not penetrate the paint. Very, very impressive shape especially for a 30 year old guitar. Comes with a brand new authentic Gibson hardshell Les Paul case.
